MORE WOMEN HAVE GOT INTO SENIOR ROLES IN THE LAST FIVE YEARS AS COMPARED TO MEN

Women Outpace Men in Leadership Growth Over Past Five Years

 

More women are occupying senior positions in India than before, according to a government report.

Women held 28.7% share in board of directors in FY25, up from 26.7% in FY20.

During the same period, men’s share declined to 71.3% from 73.3%.

A similar trend was observed in senior management roles. Women accounted for 16.6% of such positions in FY25 compared with 14.7% in FY20.

In contrast, the share of men declined to 83.3% from 85.3%, according to the ‘Women and Men in India 2024’ report by the ministry of statistics and programme implementation (MoSPI). Data for FY25 is as of January 31.
