The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), through its Air Laboratory, has issued a formal notice dated 10 September 2025 regarding the certification of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS). All manufacturers of air pollution monitoring equipment are required to submit their applications to CSIR-NPL under the NPL India Certification Scheme (NPLI CS) by 15 September 2025. Failure to comply may result in the derecognition of their CEMS instruments on CPCB’s OCEMS portal. This directive follows prior communications on the CPCB website and multiple stakeholder meetings held in August and September 2025.
