Kerala Government Notification dated 13 June 2025, issued under the Building and Other Construction Workers’ (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996:

Purpose: To amend Rule 31 of the Kerala Rules framed under the Building and Other Construction Workers’ Act, 1996.
Key Amendment: Revised Fee Structure Under Rule 31 The notification revises the fee amounts payable under Rule 31, replacing the previous structure with updated slabs as follows:

If the number of workers is less than 50: ₹1,250

If the number of workers exceeds 50 but does not exceed 100: ₹3,125
-
If the number of workers exceeds 100 but does not exceed 250: ₹6,250
-
If the number of workers exceeds 250 but does not exceed 500: ₹12,500
-
If the number of workers exceeds 500: ₹25,000
Background: The earlier fee rates under Rule 31 were last revised via S.R.O. No. 576/2013 dated 23 July 2013. After consultation with the Expert Committee constituted under Section 5(1) of the Act, the Kerala Government has now issued updated rates to reflect current operational realities.
